AutoSpray Systems is led by three co-founders who bring together decades of experience across aviation, compliance, technology, and international business.
Robert Pearson
Robert has over 25 years of experience in product design, innovation, and UK-China collaboration. He previously built a multinational design group specialising in accelerating design-to-production workflows between the UK and China. His Hangzhou-based operation became a leading name in CGI imaging across Europe.
After selling his agency in 2018, Robert shifted his focus to agri-tech and co-founded AutoSpray Systems. He oversees commercial strategy, financial operations, and supply chain management, while maintaining direct collaboration with XAG in China.
We were told this would take 20 years to become legal, we made it happen in two. UK farmers and contractors deserve access to this technology right now.
Andy Sproson
Andy is a recognised authority on unmanned aviation legislation. He secured the first UK approval for agricultural UAV operations and the first fully commercial BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) permission for agriculture in the UK.
At AutoSpray Systems, Andy leads drone pesticide operations, including rigorous product testing, HSE permit applications, and efficacy protocols. His earlier career in emergency services honed his expertise in critical incident planning and resource management, which he now applies to high-stakes drone operations.
We’ve helped develop UAV frameworks for over 1,000 organisations, the priority is safety, compliance, and building systems that work at scale.
Scott Dowell
Scott’s career began in the Royal Navy, where he served as an Air Engineering Technician on Lynx helicopters. He later spent 14 years in UK policing, co-founding his force’s first drone unit and pioneering UAVs for frontline operations.
Alongside Andy, Scott founded the CAA-approved training entity Pigs Can Fly, which set the stage for AutoSpray Systems. Today, he leads training and compliance, ensuring every pilot we train operates to the highest safety and regulatory standards.
