The definitive register of safe, compliant materials approved for UK drone application.

This page provides a live, transparent record of the materials approved for drone application by members of the AutoSpray Pilot Network (ASPN). At AutoSpray Systems, we are committed to setting the highest standards for safety and accountability in the UK’s aerial technology sector.

Every drone displaying an ASPN sticker is operated by a specialist trained to the highest standard, flying under the strict regulatory oversight of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). This digital register ensures that landowners, regulators, and the public can verify that the inputs being applied – from crop nutrients to native tree seeds – meet our rigorous safety and environmental criteria.

This category covers straight and compound nutrients used to support crop health and yield.

  • Nitrogen Sources: Including Ammonium Nitrate, Urea, Calcium Ammonium Nitrate, and slow-release polymer-coated options.
  • Phosphate & Potassium: Including DAP, MAP, Triple Superphosphate, Muriate of Potash, and Sulphate of Potash.
  • Secondary Nutrients: Magnesium sources (Kieserite/Epsom salts), Calcium Nitrate, and Sulphur prills or liquids.
  • Soil pH Management: Ground limestone, Dolomitic lime, and micronised liquid lime suspensions.
  • Compound NPK Blends: All standard granular and liquid NPK, NP, NK, and PK ratios.
N.B: We recommend using the Defra Plan and Manage Nutrient Applications service to record and plan your applications in line with best practice.

Natural amendments designed to improve soil structure and biological activity.

  • Natural Manures: Dried poultry pellets, processed digestate (liquid or fibre), and approved biosolids.
  • Composts & Mulch: Green waste, mushroom, and peat-free composts alongside woodchip or bark amendments.
  • Carbon & Humic Products: Humic and Fulvic acids, and Leonardite extracts.
  • Water Management Agents: Soil wetting agents, hydrogels, and superabsorbent polymers.

Precision-broadcast seeds for agriculture, environmental stewardship, and forestry.

  • Agricultural Crops: Grass and forage mixes (Ryegrass, Clover, Herbal leys) and arable cereals (Wheat, Barley, OSR).
  • Environmental Stewardship: Wildflower and pollinator mixes, nectar swards, and specialist peatland seed.
  • Native Woodland: Birch, Alder, Rowan, Scots Pine, and other broadleaf woodland species.

N.B: Drone operators are strictly prohibited from spreading any seeds coated with Plant Protection Products (PPPs).

Living organisms and natural extracts used for ecological and crop enhancement.

  • Beneficial Soil Microbes: Including Nematoes (Steinernema spp., etc), PGPR bacteria (Bacillus spp.), nitrogen-fixers (Azotobacter), and Mycorrhizal fungi.
  • Natural Biostimulants: Seaweed extracts, amino acids, and protein hydrolysates.
  • Restoration Biomass: Sphagnum fragments, live moss cultures, and mycelium-infused substrates for habitat recovery.

Non-pesticide coatings and cleaning agents for protected cropping environments.

  • Solar Protection: Calcium carbonate, kaolin clay, and polymer-based shading coatings.
  • Maintenance & Light Management: Shading removal agents, anti-fog sprays, and optical light diffusion coatings.

Materials for the maintenance of tracks, solar arrays, and historic assets.

  • Surface Maintenance: Sand, grit, and straw pellets.
  • Asset Protection: Biodegradable solar panel cleaners and conservation treatments for historic masonry.
