We are widely recognised for pioneering aerial solutions, but we know that some environments require a different perspective. We’re proud to be bringing that same precision to the ground with the XAG R-Series Agricultural Rovers, bridging the gap for specialty crops where aerial access or manual labour poses a constant challenge.

The rovers, available later this month, are a ground-up re-engineering of the original rover series, built on five years of field feedback.

  • R100: Designed for high-density environments like greenhouses, featuring a 120L tank and 4-wheel drive.
  • R200: A higher-capacity 240L system with six-wheel stability for specialty crops like orchards and vineyards.

The Benefit: These rovers keep operators out of the spray zone, providing a safer, lower-emission route to autonomous operations.

Applied Innovation: The Woodland Trust

We’ve wrapped two major projects with the Woodland Trust in the last few weeks, one on Bodmin Moor in Cornwall and one at Hepple in Northumbria, proving once again that drones can reach where traditional machinery simply cannot.

Working with The Woodland Trust, both projects sowed native tree seed mixes consisting of 90% acorns across a huge acreage. This work forms a vital part of our ‘Beyond Restoration‘ conservation project, creating a blueprint for restoring ecosystems at scale.

Applying Net Risk: New White Paper

Fresh from addressing the Spray Drone End User Conference in Kansas City, our COO Andy Sproson formally launched a new white paper last month: “Applying Net Risk“.

Following PwC’s Net Risk paper last year, which prominently cited AutoSpray and our work to date, this new document sets out a practical framework for how net risk can be assessed and reduced in real-world drone operations. It moves the conversation beyond capability and towards evidence, outcomes, and defensible decision-making.

Global Evidence & Efficacy

Andy Sproson and Scott Dowell (our COO and CTO) are heading to Kansas City later this month to speak at the Spray Drone End User Conference.

While the US was fast to adopt drone spraying, they are now looking closer at the data and efficacy that the UK and EU have prioritised from the start. Scott will be talking about granular applications and scaling up operations, while Andy will be discussing how application quality and regulatory alignment underpin safe, repeatable commercial roll-outs. This evidence-based groundwork is exactly what will unlock genuine commercial applications for our network in 2026.
